FITTINGS

Forged Fittings

Forged fittings are essential components in piping systems, designed to connect or branch small-diameter pipes. Manufactured through a high-temperature forging process, these fittings offer superior strength, durability, and leak-resistant connections. They are widely used in high-pressure applications across industries such as oil and gas, petrochemical, and power generation.

At CWC, we uphold the highest quality standards, ensuring our forged fittings meet strict Australian regulations. Our commitment to quality control sets us apart, providing durable and high-performance solutions for critical piping systems.

Types of Forged Fittings and Their Functions

Elbow Fittings

Used to change the direction of flow in a piping system, available in 45° and 90° angles.

Tee Fittings

Allow the merging or splitting of flow, providing a three-way connection for efficient fluid distribution.

Coupling Fittings

Designed to join two pipes together, ensuring a secure and stable connection.

Union Fittings

Facilitate easy disassembly and reassembly, ideal for systems requiring frequent maintenance.

Cross Fittings

Enable the intersection of four pipes, allowing for multi-directional flow distribution.

Cap Fittings

Seal the end of a pipe, providing protection and preventing leaks.

Each forged fitting undergoes a rigorous manufacturing process, enhancing its strength and reliability in demanding environments.

Industry Standards for Forged Fittings

CWC’s forged fittings comply with internationally recognized standards, ensuring performance and reliability in high-pressure applications. These include:

  • ASME B16.11 – Specifies dimensions and pressure ratings for forged fittings.
  • MSS SP-83 – Covers socket-weld and threaded fittings for industrial use.

Common Materials Used in Forged Fittings

Our forged fittings are available in a variety of materials to suit different operational requirements, including:

  • Carbon Steel (ASTM SA/A105N)
  • High-Yield Carbon Steel (ASTM A694 F42)
  • Low-Temperature Carbon Steel (ASME SA/A350 LF1)
  • Chrome Moly (ASTM SA/A182F2)
  • Stainless Steel (ASTM SA/A182F304/304L)
  • Duplex & Super Duplex Steel (UNS S31803, S32205, S32750, S32760)
  • Nickel Alloys (Inconel, Monel, Incoloy, Hastelloy)

To ensure compliance with project specifications, it is essential to refer to the applicable standards and material requirements for each application.

Choosing Between Butt Weld Fittings and Forged Fittings

The selection of butt weld fittings or forged fittings depends on factors such as application requirements, material compatibility, installation process, and cost considerations.

At CWC, we provide both butt weld and forged fittings, ensuring our clients receive the best solutions for their specific operational needs.
